We would absolutely stay here again, the venue met standard.
great room, the staff is great
breakfasts are terrible,
Nice breakfast. friendly staff willing to help you . Valet gentleman was awesome. The room was kept clean. You have a choice to eating your breakfast on the patio Very quiet This location is a block from the walking trail around Lake Austin/lady bird lake. we were walking distance from most activities in downtown including 6th street.
I noticed that the lobby temp was kept at about 65 degrees.....very chilly. No stocked bar in the rooms. this might not be a big issue to most.
Eggs were delicious Bed very comfortable
Valet very nice but wreaked of cigarette smoke
Good place to hang out on the 6th St
Bed wasn't comfortable, noise late night.
Breakfast was good.
Too noisy for us both from people walking and talking in the corridors and the traffic. The room was a bit dull to tolerate staying for as week, so we moved out after 2 days.
The breakfast is perfect, the staff is SO welcoming and friendly. Any trip we make to Austin, it will be here!
The rooms were extremely clean, beds very comfortable, nice bathrooms. Location was perfect for going to go sixth street and good food all around. I would definitely stay there again.
It was clean and I enjoyed my stay.
A little pricy for the quality.
Great location. Lots of great food and entertainment in walking distance.
Valet parking was ok except we had no idea it would cost so much. There is no other reasonable choice. Add $25 per night to the price.
The staff was great, they were friendly and very helpful. The location was the best for easy to get to places in downtown.
A few blocks away from 6th street as well as from the lake and bike/Booked.net rentals. Great breakfast and a nice little pool area. Afforable parking.
Location. Decent room. Service
Plastic tableware in the restaurant when having breakfast. Seriously, guys? Could clearly hear all conversation from the neighbour room, little bit more privacy would be great.
This could be a great option for anyone looking for a hotel in downtown Austin with easy access to any/all destinations in the city. A more affordable option on the "luxury" scale, meaning one step down in price from huge, new JW Marriott nearby. Has comfortable, clean & fairly spacious single king-sized rooms. If you're in town for a weekend, sight-seeing, a wedding party or for biz, potentially a great option. Very convenient & accessible, esp. for those looking for easy access to downtown Austin/convention centers. In room WiFi/wired Internet a plus, as are proximity to airport and comfy beds.
Few downsides worth mentioning: I didn't know this going in (and wasn't made clear prior to booking online), so I want to warn anyone (particularly those that might spend more time in their room than JUST to sleep; those staying in upper floors) that the Hampton is apparently doing some remodeling, and obv. some construction as a result. Not certain what the extent/duration of remodeling is (tho as I remember it will last a few months at least) ... But at least as of mid June, there's construction going on, and, depending on the room, will be some light-to-moderate construction-related noise. Obv. this depends on where you're staying in the hotel. But I heard a fair amount, albeit muffled, from my room during the day. Not terrible by any means and not necessarily worth staying away from as a result, but obviously well worth inquiring about when you book/arrive and moving/avoiding rooms close to remodeling if possible. Also worth underlining: Check-in is AFTER 3PM. So, if you plan to stay at Hampton and will be arriving in Austin earlier in the day, and have any bags/luggage, definitely plan accordingly/ask for early check-in in advance!
